M-B FASHION WEEK...Day Eight

Goes out with a bang!!!

This is it!!! The final day of New York's Mercedes Benz Fashion Week-Spring 2009!!! I covered just about every show that took place today because they all were so fierce!!! First on my agenda was Project Runway. The newcomers gave the pros a run for their money. The collections were elaborate and detailed. The garments were beautifully constructed and the wear-ability was within reason. These designers must be commended for going after their dreams. So fabulous!!!

As expected, Ralph Lauren's collection delivered quintessential classics with modern silhouettes. Very sophisticated, elegant, and always wearable pieces.

I love Tadashi! I own a few of his ever-exquisite gowns. His collection reminded me of the arctic in springtime. White with silver reflections, and royal blue water melting into the ocean. Every now and then you'd see a flower trying to bloom.
Tadashi Shoji

Carmen Marc Valvo showcased the glamour and luxurious designs he's so famous for. I'm sure we'll see a few pieces from this collection on the red carpet.

Donna Karen Collection is the luxury line from Donna Karen. This showing boasted some beautiful fluid-like jersey pieces in muted, earthy tones. Each dress, blouse, pants, skirt gracefully draped the models "frame" and created and illusion of a perfectly proportioned figure. Karen is known for dressing women the way we want to be dressed.

Badgley Mischka's gowns are always so exquisite and detailed; always a celeb favorite.

American designer, Chado Ralph Rucci, showcased his signature structured "look". His collection was wearable art. He always bring avant-garde to everyday people.

Fashion week was a plethora of color and fabrics with one main objective: to showcase each designers inspiration for what you will be wearing for Spring 2009. The main theme was print and figure illusion. We all will be comfortably-chic this spring. Just always remember that these all are ideas. Keep in mind what works best for your body-type. Add only one or two trendy items to your classic wardrobe each season. As always, happy shopping! London Fashion Week starts Monday, and LA Fashion Week is in October!!! I'll be giving you the scenes.

M-B FASHION WEEK... Day Seven

The Eve Of The End...

Zac Posen

Calvin Klein

...And on the seventh day, there was angelic, libidinous, inventiveness! My favorites of the day were the collections from Wang, Taylor, Klein, and Posen. They all wreaked of simple, sexiness. Zac bought dramatically-suttle silhouettes and fabrics; while Calvin showcased his signature minimalist-chic collection. Bohemian never looked so sexy as it did from Rebecca Taylor's collection. And as always, Vera makes ready-to-wear look so haute couture with her structure and cuts within the fabrics. Thursday was only the beginning of the eve, of the end, of an extraordinary week of fashion talent.

M-B FASHION WEEK... Day Six

Hump-day showed no signs of slowing down with brilliant collections from such designers as Michael Kors, Nanette Lepore, 3.1 Phillip Lim, Carlos Miele, and Anna Sui!

Anna Sui- No one mixes patterns and fabrics better than Sui. Her collection was an infusion of vintage and boho. Very hott!!!

Carlos Miele - Known for his creative silhouettes, Miele did not let me down. His collections showcased structured suits to bias-cut chiffon gowns.

3.1 Phillip Lim- Still relatively new to the game, Lim's collection showcased his attention to detailing. No one would think he's only been doing this for about 4 years.

Nanette Lepore - Her collection was a bevy of movement with soft, fluid fabrics that fall and drape very graceful as the models' walked. Her clothing is always so very feminine without being frumpy and/or "Little House on the Prairie-ish".

Michael Kors- One word....... Fabulous!!!!!! Love him!!!... He always brings the high-fashion- Euro-look to his American designs.
