There are theatrical plays that make it to Broadway, and then there are those that come alive "off-Broadway". The same is for the "clothing line" of She by Sheree. Sheree Whitfield of the Real Housewives of Atlanta debuted her much speculated line during the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week 2010. But let's not get it twisted(two snaps and a circle...LOL), it took place during Fashion Week in New York; not at Fashion Week in Bryant Park. I have to get my thoughts together so I can articulate how I feel about this in a mature manner. So for now I will leave you some pics from the showing. I'd love to hear how you feel about this collection... Would you wear it? Do you like it????? Was it worth the hype? You tell me; then I'll tell you.....

2010 Spring MB Fashion Week... Day One

Mercedes Benz Fashion Week kicked off with a little fizz in NYC at Bryant Park. I was so excited to see so many of my early spring predictions come to life. But for the most part I was disappointed. I was not wowed!!!
The day began with an early showing from Michael Angel. The collection entailed a color scheme too dark for spring, but infused with soft fabrics; it works. He showcased the bell shape and feminine frills with rocker edge; as I predicted. Angel translated the "structured" trend of the curent fall season into a softer silhouette to enhance feminine curves. Although this showing did not make me think of a resort vacation break, for the most part, it reminded me of last year's Alexander McQueen Collection. It put me in the mood to be at an uptown Manhattan club siping on a martini. Would I rock the pieces in this collection? Damn right! I love it; just doesn't make me think "Springtime"...

Michael AngelI was eagerly anticipating the showing from BCBG Maxazria. To my surprise, I was somewhat disapointed. I've seen it all before from him. Draping, draping, draping. Just another way to drape. The collection was beautiful, but I've seen it last year. I wanted to see something exciting from Maxazria. Would I wear this collection? I already have! Been there, it's in my closet, done that. Sorry...

BCBG MaxazriaDavid Elfin presented his interpretation for Spring 2010 on the promenade. One word to describe this collection>>>androgynous!!! That's all; nothing more, nothing less...

David ElfinMy second highly anticipated collection was from Ports 1961. And she did the damn thing! Her collection embodied all that says resort time. It puts you in the mind of St. Tropez; south of France. Elegant daytime cafe dining to sexy evening get-togethers. Soft color tones, draping, mixing of textures(soft fabrics with adornments and leather belts); bell shapes, lady-like grandeur with unexpected pops; this collection had it all! Check out the video of the entire collection!

Spring Fashion Week Predictions....
With only one day away from the beginning of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York, I have a few predictions of what we'll be seeing. Spring collections are so heavily influenced by vacation getaways, sexy resorts(i.e. resort wear), and St. Tropez tans. My guess is that sophisticated feminine garb will be the rage for this Spring's Collections. Colored lace will probably be a big influence. Soft draped, skin revealing fabrics will be the new. The color tones will be soft, pale, nude hues; much different from last spring's bright, bold pallet. I think the shape will be bell and silhouette-inspired. Feminine florals will have an edge with textured fabrics and hard accessories.
I'm so excited to see what's in store for us next season!!! Until then, happy shopping!!!
