Trend Alert....Chanel Nail Polish

Kaleidoscope(extremely hard to find..limited edition from fall/2008)

As you all know, I love Chanel nail polish. As of right now, I'm wearing my staple Chanel Blue Satin. But I finally found the extinct Kaleidoscope color; which I can't wait to wear and give Blue Satin a break. But I have to let you all know about the new Spring 2009 Collection... Introducing Limited Edition Golden Sands and Orange Fizz... These aren't available in stores yet, but can be purchased directly from Chanel.com/$23.00

Limited Edition Golden Sands, Orange Fizz

But check this out.... Fashion week just wrapped up. On the Chanel runway, all the models were sporting this hott, ice-minty-green nail lacquer. OMG!!! I have a feeling this will be the next limited edition color... This will fly off the shelves and will become extinct just like Kaleidoscope. So I will keep you posted!!!
Check out this color!!!

The Baddest Chick!

Long before Trina tried to convince us that she was the baddest chick, there was the Material Girl, who holds the title, hands down better and longer, than anyone in the game(sorry Bey). No matter what you call her(Lady M, Magde, M, Material Girl) Madonna has set the bar of a true diva so high, that no one has yet to even come close to reaching it. And still at age 50, this chick is still the baddest b!tch in the game. She's done it all; from singer/songwriter, businesswoman, movies, producer, mother, wife, good-girl, bad-girl, and now she's back just like I like her....

I've always been a huge Madonna fan!!!! Check out some of the pics from her March '09 Layout in W magazine. Don't they remind you of her earlier 'Sex' book.... I like her this way; as a naughty girl...LOL

Fashion is Alive in the South...

Over the past few years, fashion has become more and more "in fashion". We all want to be glamorous and sensational, just as our celebrity idols. "Back in the day" one could only dream to look as gorgeous as a Diana Ross or Sophia Loren(okay, am I showing my age...LOL). Celebrities were untouchable. They wore one of a kind clothing and were actually stars; meaning "we-the- ordinary-people" could not reach them. Okay fast forward to the era of Madonna, who set fashion trends on fire with lace tops, chiffon skirts, leggings, and tons of bangles; designers such as Betsey Johnson and Vivienne Westwood became synonymous for Material Girl inspired gear. Thus, leading to runway shows becoming the hottest tickets in town for celebrity sitings and the latest fashion. We finally could get "inside" and learn their beauty secrets, what they wore, the places they hung out, and eventually we began to look better than them in some instances...LOL...Now fast forward to today. Every region has their own "fashion week"; Which originally started in New York City. Europe soon followed. And now it seems as if every region on the map has it's own interpretation of what fashion is.

Well, I said all of that to say, tomorrow begins the first day of the Second Annual Charleston Fashion Week. The event begins with fashion shows presented by the most talented emerging designers from the Art Institute of Charleston; which is also a major sponsor of the week long fashion extravaganza. Of course, there will be celebrity sitings, major television coverage, and hot VIP after-parties. Some of the highlights include a fashion show presented by Saks Fifth Avenue, the bridal couture show, and the emerging designer competition with guest judge Myckael Knight of Project Runway.

Much to my dismay, I had to turn down the opportunity to work behind the scenes due to other obligations at the time, but I will be attending the Saturday Couture Show and Gala. I'm very excited and am truly glad that this part of the region now has a voice for fashion; and people are listening!

Recessionably Fabulous!!!!

We all have watched, at one time or another, glamorous models in a designer fashion show strut down the runway in couture and ready-to-wear ensembles that were insanely priced; and dreamed of wearing such fierce attire. Well ladies, we can stop dreaming...

Don't let the economy put a damper on your fabulousness!!! The great Christian Siriano will be launching a budget-friendly line of "hot-off-the-catwalk-from-New-York-Fashion-Week" shoes for.....are you ready for this.... Payless Shoe Source! Yes, indeed! You read it correctly. Siriano, the ever-so-talented winner of Project Runway, has partnered with Payless to bring high-fashion to the masses; without the high prices. The prices will range from $25 to $45!!!

Now, on the downside; yes there is a downside, you will have to wait until September for the line to debut. But moreso, everyone that's a wanna-be-fashionista will have a pair... I'm sorry ladies to dampen your spirits. I do think the shoes are hottt!!! But as hottt as they are, I will not be in the line for the grand debut. But it is my will to bring the latest trends, news, and all things fashion to you. So happy shopping!!!

Think Spring Dresses....

...Think Diane von Furstenburg!!!
Spring time is upon us and it's the season for pure femininity. This is the season of bright colors, floral prints, and soft fabrics. I'm in the market for such dresses, and only one designer came to mind: the classic styling of DVF! Here are some of my favorites from the 2009 Spring Collection...
And even though I wanted to take them all home with me, we are in a recession, and I'm not an estate heiress. So I could only get one.
This is the one I chose as my own. It's sexy, yet femininely sophisticated; reserved enough to wear to a luncheon, church, and/or work. It's $285.00 at www.dvf.com
From the runway collection of the 2009/Spring show!
So fabulous!!!!

No Words Necessary...

Christian Louboutin "Dillian" Python Pump...$2875.00(@Bergdorf Goodman)
I'm drooling for this new spring dream!!!
